Portulacaria afra Decumbent is very widespread in the east of South Africa. Small, round, apple green leaves stand out against flexible red stems. It reaches a height of between 2.5 and 4.5 meters. The Elephant Bush name comes from the fact that it serves as food for elephants in its native environment.
The flowers are grouped into inflorescences and appear in summer. All of the plants will be shipped bare root. Portulacaria afra house plants thrive in bright light in a warm, draft-free room. Placing your plant to the brightest light possible in the house is ideal.
Water thoroughly only when soil is dry to the touch, then let drain completely. These plants are highly adapted to dry conditions and drought but they thrive when given sufficient water.
Provide porous soil with adequate drainage, pots with drainage holes are recommended.
